With the dust still settling on the success of her Little Voice EP, Rebekah Higgs is pleased to announce that her sophomore full length album is set to come out on Hidden Pony sometime this summer.

It's great to be joining Hidden Pony. They are a young label, with a young team, full of energy, exuberance, and a love for music and a passion for what they do. As an artist you couldn't hope for more.

Known for their recent success with such artists as Said The Whale, Jeremy Fisher and Imaginary Cities, Hidden Pony is equally ecstatic to be working with Rebekah and welcomes her to the label

"We're so very excited to be working with Rebekah. Everyone at Hidden Pony loves the record and we think it fits in perfect with the aesthetic we've tried to develop. We're thrilled to welcome her to our amazing family."

In the meantime Rebekah Higgs will be hitting the road for most of May to celebrate including a performance at the Long Live The Queen Festival in Halifax, an event that she helps curate. The release date, album title and artwork for Rebekah’s upcoming LP will be announced soon.

Media Reaction to Little Voice
“...seemingly effortless hooks. We can only hope Higgs' full-length puts as many new spins on the traditional female singer/songwriter character class as this excellent EP. Chartattack

“As an introduction to the coming new album, Little Voice does a fantastic job of teasing and building anticipation. I was starting to think that 2011 would be a slow going year for new music, but
Rebekah Higgs looks set to be a big voice in the coming months.” Quick Before It Melts

“Little Voice is a marvellous EP that raises the bar high, but with the right company, Higgs's sophomore LP should have no trouble Fosbury Flop-ing over it.” Exclaim!

“I've long loved Higgs' voice, a most powerful and poignant instrument. This, a teaser for a forthcoming full-length, doesn't disappoint.” Hour

“The ep was produced by Brian Deck (Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse), who wisely lets Higgs big voice shine on the waltzy title track.” The National Post

SCION PRESENTS SCION A/V REMIX: WIN WIN- "VICTIM" FEATURING BLAQSTARR, SPONSORS U.S. TOUR

LATEST IN SERIES INCLUDES REMIXES FROM BLACK LIPS, GIGAMESH AND MORE

Scion A/V has tapped New York psych-disco trio WIN WIN for the latest installment of the ongoing remix series to be released April 26th, 2011. Here XXXchange, Devlin and Ghostdad offer "Victim", the track featuring future-soul comrade Blaqstarr from their recent full-length on Vice Records. The trio will be playing the track live in venues across North America during their 19-stop, Scion-sponsored tour with The Death Set this spring.

"Victim" is an anthemic, electronic garage conundrum, post-patriotic and awash in distorted, dismantled guitar that regularly recoils from the edge of combustion. Gigamesh shoves the grungy original onto the dance-floor and in an unexpected turn, Atlanta "flower punks" Black Lips relish the opportunity to put their lo-fi stamp on the track by dragging out a blippy garage stomper. Conversely, The Post Rikers Rapp Starrs bang on a spacious techno builder while the mayor of LA electro, Them Jeans AKA Jason Stewart, closes out the record with a remix that features big-beat and house touches.

WIN WIN encapsulate a wide array of influences, and they plan to deliver the fruits of their labor to audiences this spring, taking the idea of live electronic music a step further. The WIN WIN live-set is an amalgam of visual and auditory stimuli- while XXXchange and Devlin provide a bed of drums and synths, Ghostdad manipulates live video accordingly, immersing the audience completely in a truly unique experience. Scion A/V will be giving tickets away to each show on Twitter, fans can follow @ScionAV for the call to action.

The WIN WIN tour and "Victim" remix EP are both examples of Scion's groundbreaking support of independent artists which has yielded over 85 releases, 38 music videos, hundreds of free events, thousands of show sponsorships, two festivals and the Scion Music(less) Music Conference. In this new venture, Scion partners with artists by giving them the resources they need to make music, tour, and create videos and films, with the artist retaining all rights and income streams. In addition Scion provides powerful marketing and promotional support to help the artists reach their goals. In doing so, Scion absorbs many of the traditional roles of the record label while giving the artist complete creative control and ownership of all their materials and masters. "XXXchange, Devlin and Ghostdad have presented a truly unique project with the Win Win Victim remix EP. It's a fitting partnership with Scion A/V that allows us to be a part of new artist projects and visions." says Jeri Yoshizu, manager of sales promotions for Scion.

Emerging pop/rock act A Million Pieces roll out their self-titled Scallywag Records EP with a record release party at LA's famed Key Club Tuesday, April 26, offering free admission before 9 p.m. A Million Pieces was produced by Jerrod "Skins" Bettis (the original drummer for OneRepublic), who will also perform with the band that evening.

"After producing pop record after rock record after hip hop record, it was a natural progression to be involved with a young, up-and-coming rock band. These guys are awesome and talented...It became a personal project for me and it was really awesome to be a part of it," said Bettis of the record.

In celebration of A Million Pieces’ EP debut and Key Club Record Release party, the band is offering five lucky pairs of fans VIP entrance and gifting of complete band/swag packages. Please visit Facebook or Twitter for more information.
A Million Pieces share a genuine bond of brotherhood and write fearlessly autobiographical songs, like lead single "Laserbeams." Guitarist/vocalist Peter Vanderloos elaborated on the band's sound: "I'm a big fan of pop music, and we're from different pop genre backgrounds, always looking to blend new and unique influences. As a band, we're open to the bigger audience and our goal is to crossover without selling out."

Along with Vanderloos, A Million Pieces is Morgan Freed (lead vocals), Ryan Brown (bass) and Stephen Soss (keyboards and assorted instruments). Their Scallywag debut EP, which features six solid, catchy and extremely well-crafted tracks, is their first outing as a band, but they’re all highly accomplished and serious musicians. Soss, who is viewed as the band’s consummate musician plays drums, trumpet, banjo and accordian (in addition to keyboards).
For more information on the band and to grab their EP on Tuesday, visit AMillionPiecesMusic.com.

2AM Club have released their new single "Let Me Down Easy" along with a viral video piece that documents the 6-member band on tour over the last few months in support of their debut album, What Did You Think Was Going To Happen? which was released in September 2010. They have also launched a Remix Project that gives their fans a chance to create their own remix to "Let Me Down Easy." Fans can enter a cyber studio, create their very own remix and share it with their friends on Facebook and Twitter. They can also listen to all other remixes and vote for their favorite. For more information, please visit remix.2AMClubMusic.com.

After having spent 2010 touring the US with artists such as Mike Posner, Chiddy Bang and participating in the MTV VMA tour with Never Shout Never and The Ready Set, the video from 2AM Club's first single "Worry About You" made a big impact at MTV and MTVU. Billboard called the song an "undeniably catchy tune" while the Los Angeles Times says 2AM Club has a "soulful sound with sharp pop hooks."

2AM Club was named MTV's PUSH (Play Until Someone Hears) Artist of the Week in early August and were the featured performers on the July 13th episode of ABC Family's hit summer show Pretty Little Liars.

The 6 members of 2AM Club - vocalists Marc Griffin and Tyler Cordy, guitarist Matt Reagan, keyboard player Dave Dalton, drummer Ian O'Neill and bassist Matt Warshauer, AKA "Sauce"-bring a diverse array of influences to the table (Jay-Z to the Beatles, Duran Duran to the Beastie Boys, Stevie Wonder to The Strokes), effortlessly synthesizing the very best of all that has come before them to create music that is resoundingly modern.

One part Seattle, one part Bay Area and one part Northeast, the group came together in Los Angeles in 2007 and honed their skills playing the local college scene before heading up and down the West Coast, booking, producing, and headlining their own gigs. After recording some demos with Jerry Harrison - a former member of the Talking Heads and Modern Lovers - 2AM Club played a now-legendary four-month residency they called "Tiny Porno" at the Derby in L.A., and word quickly spread that it was the place to be. They then picked up and transplanted to NYC to record What Did You Think Was Going To Happen? with producers Sam Hollander and Dave Katz (Boys Like Girls, Katy Perry, Gym Class Heroes).

2AM Club Spring Tour Dates
April 16 - Lewisburg, PA @ Bucknell University
April 29 - East Rutherford, NJ @ Bamboozle Festival // Meadowlands

"When i crafted this project i must say i was not in the best place spiritually. On an average day i am usually haunted by the mistakes of my past. During the particular months that it took to write and record this project it seemed as if the memories were becoming more elaborate and relevant as i relived every horrible and painful memory over and over again on the daily bases. This project is exactly opposite of what the title reflects. There is absolutely no good news during this whole project. From the opening song to the last one you can hear me self destructing." - Octavion Xcellence

There's something that seems so insanely easy about what The Submarines do. Listening to the neat and tidy bits of indie pop the husband and wife duo crank out, it's possible to imagine John Dragonetti and Blake Hazard's songs spawning from the most casual inspirations; a spontaneous, melodic passage whistled over morning coffee perhaps, or a simple sentiment scribbled on a napkin. As the morning ticks along, the idea gets pollinated just a bit more, and by lunch time, the tastiest of pop nuggets has bloomed. I can see it now, all happening in the most 'ho hum' kind of way. It's nothing really. It's just what The Submarines do.

Of course it's an illusion...my ill-informed imagination running all too wild, high on the band's breezy, head catching creations. In reality, The Submarines, like most bands in their position, have worked their tails off (trips to Austin and Paris for professional inspiration), all while persevering through the kind of difficulties that plague almost every relationship at some point (break-ups, reconciliations, all that). So if the songs that inhabit this concert performance sound effortless, well...consider it the band's great reward for a job well done. Music this cool, this comfortable, this downright charming is always the result of a long road traveled. Enjoying it, however, is a cinch.

FACE CANDY TO RELEASE WASTE AGE TEEN LAND ON RHYMESAYERS 5/25

ALBUM IS LAST COMPLETED PROJECT FROM THE LATE MICHEAL "EYEDEA" LARSEN

Rhymesayers have announced Waste Age Teen Land, the second album from Twin Cities quartet Face Candy slated for a May 25th release. The album features the talents of dual vocalists Micheal "Eyedea" Larsen and Kristoff Krane freestyling over the improvisations of bassist Casey O'Brien and drummer JT Bates. Waste Age marks the final record Eyedea was able to completely finish before his tragic passing in October of 2010 and shows his growth as an artist and musician, with influences spanning jazz, hip-hop, and ambient music.

Recorded during two days at Winterland Studios by Brian Johnson (Prince, Eyedea & Abilites) and one night in front of an audience at St. Paul's Black Dog Café (engineered by No Bird Sing's Graham O'Brien), the album showcases the band's full spectrum of talents-from contemplative instrumentals to auto-tuned lyrical horseplay, and every shade in between. The record, and indeed the entire philosophy behind Face Candy, requires sharp awareness in the moment. Waste Age Teen Land will be available as a deluxe CD version or limited hand numbered vinyl picture disc both of which include a DVD full of bonus material.

WIN WIN EMBARK ON US TOUR WITH THE DEATH SET THIS MAY

XXXCHANGE, DEVLIN, AND GHOSTDAD SUPPORT DEBUT ALBUM ON VICE RECORDS

WIN WIN, the audio-visual trio composed of heavy-hitters XXXchange (the producer-half of Spank Rock), Devlin and Ghostdad, have had a momentous year already with the release of their self-titled debut out now on Vice Records and a string of collaborations, remixes and videos. WIN WIN encapsulate a wide array of influences, and they plan to deliver the fruits of their labor to audiences this spring aloongside Brooklyn-via-Australia synth-punks The Death Set, who are supporting their new XXXchange-produced album, Michel Poiccard.

WIN WIN plan to take the idea of live electronic music a step further this May. The WIN WIN live-set is an amalgam of visual and auditory stimuli- while XXXchange and Devlin provide a bed of drums and synths, Ghostdad manipulates live video accordingly, immersing the audience completely in a truly unique experience. Though many electronic artists have a visual component, Ghostdad's cut-and-paste contribution is completely unique, exercising irony and poignancy to illustrate the songs' themes. Isolation in the digital age, voyeur, and societal frustration are all addressed beautifully by the music as well as visuals.

On March 22, 2011, the second installment of DJ Cassidy & ?uestlove’s Rock/Freak exploded at the Hudson Hotel’s Good Units. Powered by New York party legend Jonny Lennon, the dance fest attracted well over 1500 people to the hotel’s basement. While not every one of them made it in, every one of them heard the music and the music was electric. Cass & Quest dished it out to the party people all night long, as they traded headphones back and forth for doses of Funk, Disco, Hip Hop, House, New Wave, and Afrobeat. A truly diverse crowd including Russell Simmons, Q-Tip, Carole Alt, Estelle, A-Trak, Andre Harrell, and Greg Nice came out to rock, while O’Neal McKnight who was celebrating his birthday, came out to freak. The lights turned on around 5AM, but the music echoed until the sun came up.
Ladies and Gentlemen, there is simply no iller sound system in New York City than that at Rock/Freak. See for yourself on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 as DJ Cassidy & ?uestlove take you on a journey of music like you’ve never experienced before. Get down to get down…

Their self-titled EP dropped along with their SXSW debut and its first single has already caught looks from Spin Magazine. Part Rolling Stones, part Frankie Valli, Body Language is a laid-back soul jam with a catchy hook, and a horn section straight up 60’s.

Talia Coles releases her newest single "Never See You Again" via Couture Music/Phase One and is currently #19 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart! "Never See You Again" is the follow-up to Talia's energetic pop/reggae dance phenomenon "Nikki Wine" which featured Elephant Man and appeared on over 100 mixtapes last summer.

"Never See You Again" was written by Talia Coles, and produced by red hot producer Teetimus. The single features an explosive remix from the legendary production team of Razor N Guido. The infectious track is laced with Talia's slick yet relatable lyrics, "Everything was picture perfect 'til you moved the frame, and now because of you it's barely hanging. Boy in a flash it's like you start to replace him, that photograph is fading." Adding an extra drug to the already intoxicating tune, DJ Extraordinaire Fatman Scoop adds his signature hype track for a special club banger version. In addition, Couture Music artist KO Stiggity lends a memorable 8 bar verse to set the tone on the original version. Managed by Jojo Brim from KWL Enterprises (Trey Songz, Estelle, Big Sean, Nelly), Talia Coles is also an accomplished songwriter, stylist and designer who has lent her talents to some of today's top notch creative forces. Whether its styling videos for Trey Songz and P. Diddy, or writing songs for Slim from 112, Musiq Soulchild or Tyler Perry, Talia proves that she has what it takes to be amongst the elite of the entertainment industry. Talia draws from her culturally dynamic African-American and Puerto Rican upbringing in Harlem, NY, as well as from her musician father who played alongside James Brown and Wilson Pickett. Talia graduated from New York's iconic LaGuardia High School of Music and the Performing Arts with a diploma in Music History and Voice. She studied ballet and jazz at the Broadway Dance Theatre, adding to her natural love for hip-hop dance.
"Like Keri Hilson or Ryan Leslie, Talia Coles has paid her dues as a songwriter and is now ready to show the world her true love; being a multi-dimensional artist."~ Singersroom.com

Sooo sick!

Freedom or Death "Ego" Teaser from Hugh Suh on Vimeo.

In the last month Freedom or Death co-hosted and curated an enthused about CMW performance at The Baitshop, called VINYL ‘The transmission of art pressed on wax, painted on canvas, shot on film, spun on record - a showcase of eclectic artists and their work’ and EYE Weekly took note:
“…if you’re a CMW artist and don’t like your assigned slot (say, 1:30 a.m. on Thursday night), what do you do? If you’re savvy, you book an additional gig at a coolsemi-secret venue, partner with a media outlet and invite all your friends. Or at least that’s what you do when your name is Freedom or Death. The Toronto electronic duo of Sway and Fernandez are former music biz staffers now determined to do it themselves all the way. And so this skate shop down an alley in Parkdale became a buzz showcase with hip-hop DJs, live painting, and dancing on the skate ramp, all captured by AuxTV.”

Saw themselves in a feature in The Wall Street Journal prior to their SXSW plays:
“Freedom or Death's debut disc, a self-titled five-song EP, declared the group's burgeoning strengths—melody, an affinity for space in the arrangements, (Sway’s) voice, and (Fernandez's) easy way with keyboards. But though the musicians brand themselves an electro-folk group, their second release include(s) covers ofsongs by Jay-Z, Nas and others, introducing (Sway’s) rapping amid (Fernandez's) lush arrangements.”

And, just last week, they were name-checked as a top 5 band of 2011 by France’s equivalent to NME, “LesInRocks” with a powerful review: “What a peculiar thing this duo turned foursome, from Toronto…The tunes flirt sometimes with pop, that remind us of the first Coldplay. But underneath the surface, shiny and shivers guaranteed, Canadian pop is much more complex, diverse and much more indefinable than it shows; some pop or soul or electro or r&b, hand in hand, little delicate written wonders…”
As Sway and Fernandez gear towards their official EP release parties on April 29 at the Steamwhistle Roundhouse in Toronto and May 19 at Il Motore in Montreal, they just wrapped their first video for This Crowded Room. Working with Grandson & Son directing the video for the track that earned the band a #3 spot on John Sakamoto’s Anti-Hit List last fall, the black and white video features intricate camera work of over a 100 takes of the song and was shot in an 1872 school house. The video will be serviced in May.

Montreal and Toronto fans can see Freedom or Death at their EGO release shows later this month. The rest of Canada can pick up their EP as of April 26. Catch the band as summer dates line up and keep your ears perked for Freedom and Death tracks on TV, as songs from EGO will run in ABC’s Rookie Blue series this summer. Further dates for Freedom or Death will be announced shortly.

Serena Andrews who takes us to school with a new 10-song record, 'Do Not Resist', about the mechanics of energy and love. We're brought you 2 of the tracks from the album free to post, links below, and if you want a copy of the full length for review then let us know. She has an active fanbase who have said this about the release. "If Radiohead were girls and produced by Hot Chip, this is what you'd get"

Andrews just released “Do Not Resist” – a concept album done as a part of The Wire Magazine’s RPM Challenge to create a full album in under 28 days during the month of February. Starting late, Andrews completed the 10-song requirement between Feb 9th and 28th, just making the deadline. Each track is accompanied by its own illustration and a brief artist statement on her official bloghttp://love.serenaandrews.com.

Musically, the record delivers that signature bricolage of styles and influences seen in Andrews’ 2010 LP “Phoenix”, while the lyrics play like scientific love letters set to pounding and glitchy indie-dance crossover. Featuring tracks like “Sine Wave”, “Zero Point” and “Bird On A Wire”, she uses rich catchy vocal hooks to personify energy in its various forms. Overall, “Do Not Resist” is a lesson in both love and physics. Andrews claims the record required a lot of research, and the songs cover everything from existence itself to love and missed phone calls.

Come along, loyal fans, as we observe a vision of the near future. The place: Russia. The year: 34 AS (After Singularity). Gigantic automatons stomp across a hermetic landscape. Grass and soil have been replaced with carbon fiber and diamond alloys. Humans have been forced underground, while their robotic masters wait patiently in the overworlds as mortal half lives fly by. The Eurasian continental mass is now dominated by a massive sentient structure which encompasses a bulk of the former USSR. This is club Demokracy. This is where machines come to dance.
Over the past year there’s been a slow, but steady explosion of Russian underground music making its way over to the states thanks in no small part to the Internet. Some months back, we along with many other bloggers noticed that Russia had not only taken to Witch House, but was churning out some of the best tunes the neophyte genre had to offer. This is how I came upon Demokracy. While they’re not Witch House, far from it…they blipped on our radar when our own Fokkawolfe did an installment of Sounds From the Other Side focused on TaigaΔΔΔ. The at first mysterious TaigaΔΔΔ turned out to actually be the side-project of Demokracy’s Stas AKA Hmot which in turn lead us to discover the wonders that are Demokracy.
We’re now pleased to announce a new release in conjunction with Мишка, Demokracy’s Have Space Suit, Will Travel. This mix is 40 minutes of pure glitch greatness. The duo of Hmot and Damscray of Demokracy have been making a lot of noise recently on German label Robox Neotech. Harnessing the immense power of the internet, Demokracy have made sure their furious sampling and firm grasp on future music have reached ears the world over. After the recent release of their debut EP Double Star, they decided to take it to the next level with this one. The fork tongued bear is pleased. Get the mix, and prepare to fantasize about cybernetic enhancements and nanotech body modifications.

When I was 15 and living in East Lansing, Michigan, I convinced my folks to let my band rehearse in our living room (my sister's string quartet had already commandeered the basement).

I remember asking the kids in the band to leave their instruments at my house in between rehearsals. I realized only later that this would prevent them from practicing their individual parts in between rehearsals and seriously affect our ability to sound good at gigs. Woods.

Still, it sparked a dream for me: To one day have a space where instruments would be permanently set up and anybody could play them at any time. Oh, and wouldn't it be killer if everything was pre-wired to record what came out?

I held onto that notion until I finally got the chance to implement it. Just after starting Cherrytree Records in 2005 with the release of Feist's "Let It Die" album, I took all of the instruments I'd bought over the years and set them up in my office. With the kind encouragement of Interscope Geffen A&M's Chairman Jimmy Iovine (who patiently tolerated the sound checks from his office down the hall) and the expert help of my good friend and skilled engineer, Tony Ugval, I began recording performances from the talented artists that would visit Cherrytree.

Staff members Andrea, Scott, Kelvin & Brad helped capture the sessions on video and soon we began posting footage of these magical performances at www.TheCherrytreeHouse.com. Requests poured in from enthusiastic "Rec'ers" (members of our www.CherrytreeRecords.com community) to make the audio available so we introduced a series of 3 EP's entitled "The Cherrytree Sessions." These were 3-song sets from Robyn, Lady Gaga & Keane (all still available).

To our delight, the more musicians performed at The Cherrytree House, the more creative DNA they left there. It seemed to seep into the instruments and walls and inspire more artists to come play. It was a teenage dream-come-true.

Before long, we found ourselves with an extraordinary collection of recordings: intimate at times, unexpected at others. Then, one day, while chatting with Interscope's head of sales, Gary Kelly, he suggested we issue these exclusive performances in the form of an album - "The Cherrytree House Sessions, Volume 1."

As consistently magical as Robyn's performances are, I still don't know if a better acoustic version of her song "Be Mine!" exists than The Cherrytree House recording included here. It still threatens to bring a tear to my eye every time I listen to it.

The heartfelt collaboration between Far East Movement and Frankmusik is one of the most emotional renditions of FM's hit "Rocketeer" and Keane's poignant "Somewhere Only We Know" performance here is nothing short of breathtaking.

The delicate timbre of Feist's near-impossible voice enchants on this intimate version of "Intuition" while Mt. Desolation succeeds in using just about every instrument at The Cherrytree House for this riveting take on their "State of Our Affairs."

I remember the maestro, Sting, gracing us with a lute lesson at The Cherrytree House before diving in to this arresting version of "The Snow It Melts the Soonest" (Me: "How many strings does it have?" Sting: "Too many.").

Ellie Goulding and Natalia Kills both filled The Cherrytree House with their beautiful and haunting voices on "The Writer" and "Mirrors" (on which I had the honor of accompanying Natalia on the piano).

Kelis and Mohombi both turned their powerful dance songs into driving acoustic pieces with their hypnotic performances of "Brave" and "Bumpy Ride" respectively.

With "The Cherrytree House Sessions, Volume 1," we're proud to share what we've had the privilege to experience first hand: the generous talent and inspired performances of these amazing artists. Special thanks go to them and the kids in my band who agreed to leave their instruments at my house in between rehearsals.

"In keeping with the good doctor's penchant for dance floor haunts, the re-rub finds Britney sounding eerier than ever above echoing synthesizers, disjointed strings and a chorus that takes the song's drunk chanting and turns it into a choir of hellfire and damnation. It's a bit more Halloween than it is A Night At The Roxbury-but hey, we love it just the same!" - Muu Muse

About Doctor Rosen Rosen:
The evolution of rogue-pop producer/writer/remixer Doctor Rosen Rosen began in one moment in Sun Valley, Idaho when his older brother handed him a Yamaha DX-100 synthesizer, and he hasn't looked back since. Upon graduating from the University of Montana, Rosen moved to Brooklyn where he honed his dark-synth-electro pop sound as producer and vocalist for his band, The Handsome Public. After the group's final performance at the Iceland Airwaves Festival, Rosen decided to move to Los Angeles to focus full-time on production. Bootleg remixes became the order of the day, and the blogs gushed. This caught the attention of Interscope Records, who hired him to remix the Timbaland-produced "Scream". More official remixes followed of artists including La Roux, Drake, Lady Gaga, M.I.A., Weezer, Jessie and the Toy Boys, and Natalia Kills. Now working out of The Lab in Silverlake, Doctor Rosen Rosen is currently crafting original material with artists on Universal Republic, Interscope, Prospect Park, and Sony, while still finding time to put his unique spin on some of today's biggest hits.

ART OF DYING'S VICES AND VIRTUES DEBUTS AT #1 ON BILLBOARD'S HEATSEEKERS CHART!

CURRENTLY ON THE ROAD FOR FIRST ANNUAL AVALANCHE TOUR WITH STONE SOUR, THEORY OF A DEADMAN & SKILLET

Art of Dying, the Vancouver rock band signed to Disturbed's Reprise Records imprint Intoxication Records, have entered Billboard's Heatseekers chart at #1 and the Top 200 at #116 with their major-label debut Vices and Virtues. The lead single off the album, "Die Trying," was last week's featured iTunes "Single Of The Week". Art of Dying, which is vocalist/lyricist Jonny Hetherington, guitarist Greg Bradley, guitarist Tavis Stanley, bassist Cale Gontier, and drummer Jeff Brown, hit the road last week for the first annual Avalanche Tour with Stone Sour, Theory Of A Deadman, Skillet, and Halestorm. Please visit www.AvalancheTour.com for details.

Fans can win win free tickets to see Art Of Dying on the Avalanche Tour here: http://artofdying.warnerreprise.com/artofdying. Winners (who are selected at random) will receive two free tickets to a show.

Produced by Howard Benson (Papa Roach, Three Doors Down), Vices and Virtues expresses Art of Dying's energy and vitality with a blend of urgent, blaring guitar rhythms, atmospheric and transcendent counter melodies, and vocal harmonies that complement the heaviness of the music. Uptempo songs like "Die Trying" and "Straight Across my Mind" reverberate with the triumphant spirit of a raised fist, while tracks such as the acoustic-based "I Will Be There," "Best I Can," and "Raining" (which features guest vocals by Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier) are more reflective and vulnerable, revealing the pain of imperfect relationships and the redemption that lies within their repair.
