Never Shout Never release their new album, Time Travel, in stores ($9.99 at Target for a limited time) and online (iTunes, Amazon) today. AOL has the exclusive premiere of the video for the title track. Rolling Stone, who premiered the album in advance of the release, approves: "Time Travel was produced by the musicians themselves, acting for the first time as a real band. And it shows. What follows is the sound of a fully realized, four-piece unit at their moment of self-discovery." The band will kick off their headlining tour in Denver on Thursday (full list of dates is below), and Alternative Press is running a contest for a pair of tickets to each show on the tour. The grand prize winner will win a private acoustic show by the band at their home. Check out their performance of the new tracks "Silver Ecstasy" and "Simplistic Trance-Like Getaway" Live at Webster Hall in NYC for MTV. Back in late May, Never Shout Never's hometown of Joplin, MO was destroyed by a tornado. The band has been helping to increase awareness of the disaster and raise money with the United Way for long-term relief efforts in Joplin. Alternative Press visited the band in Joplin to get a first-hand look at the damage. The moving footage can be seen here. Christofer Drew is also on the cover of The Kansas City Star's entertainment weekly Ink this week where he talks about the new album and the effect the tornado had on his family and friends. After several Never Shout Never releases as Christofer Drew's solo project, Time Travel is the first release to feature a full permanent band consisting of Chris' longtime friends from Joplin, MO: Caleb Denison (Guitar/Drums/Percussion/Backing Vocals), Taylor MacFee (Bass/Backing Vocals) and Hayden Kaiser (Percussion/Backing Vocals). The band produced the entire record themselves.
