Doing The Best That We Can by KIDS AT RISK
The Australian band KIDS AT RISK is coming to America in support of their new album, the soundtrack created for the forthcoming Australian feature film Griff the Invisible, starring True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten.
At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, the band will play their first-ever show in the United States the day before the screening of the movie that inspired the soundtrack. The band will perform at The Pacific Theatre on Friday, July 22nd immediately following an advance screening of Griff the Invisible The movie debuts in theatres across the country on August 19th.
Kids at Risk will then continue their tour playing two shows in West Hollywood and two shows in New York City before returning home. The band received attention back home as the Australian Council for the Arts issued them a grant enabling Kids At Risk to travel to the United States and for this trip to become a reality. From being features in Australia’s Rolling Stone twice to airplay on radio and TV stations throughout Australia, Kids At Risk have gained a sizeable following in their native country.
For the Griff the Invisible soundtrack, the trio kept their indie-pop sound but also added diverse orchestral sounds for the action packed moments and smooth ambient sounds for the intimate moments that depict a vibe fit for a superhero film. Music Inspired by the Film Griff the Invisible shows how the songwriting talent and vast musical knowledge Kids at Risk have can produce a soundtrack that is unique yet enjoyable to a vast array of music fans.
“The band put their case forward for being an eclectic juggernaut that could, and should go places. Highly
