Cinematic indie popsters Milo Greene have announced tour dates in support of The Civil Wars this Fall. Beginning on October 7 in The Civil Wars' homestate of Alabama, Milo Greene will play shows across the United States, including stops in New York City, Chicago, and Washington D.C. The tour ends just in time for Thanksgiving, with a November 19 show in the five-piece indie outfit's hometown of Los Angeles at the majestic Wiltern Theater. For a full list of dates, please see below.
Milo Greene are also happy to announce their recent signing to Chop Shop/Atlantic Records, and plan on going into the studio this fall to begin recording for their highly anticipated debut full-length LP, which is expected to be out sometime in the Spring of 2012.
Recently, KCRW offered a free download of the band's debut single, "1957" on July 21st, and that evening the band played a free show at the Hammer Museum with Grouplove as part of the "Also I Like To Rock" summer concert series, presented by The Hammer Museum and KCRW and curated by Buzz Bands LA.
On August 27th, Milo Greene will release their debut single, "1957"/"Silent Way," as a 7" and play the Hotel Café stage at the Sunset Junction Street Fair in Silverlake, CA. A pre-sale is currently underway at http://milogreene.com for the single, which will be pressed on white vinyl in a limited edition of 500. "1957" can be heard in the new Levi's® Shape What's to Come web series. You can see the trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOw9t1PbfLw.
Band members Robbie Arnett, Andrew Heringer and Marlana Sheetz met while studying at the University of California-Irvine, where they created a character named Milo Greene, sending out emails in his name to promote their creative endeavors. After graduation, Heringer and Sheetz moved to the San Francisco area for a time. Despite the distance, they began demoing songs with Arnett. As the songs came together, Curtis Marrero, who had played with Arnett in Links, and Graham Fink (formerly of the Outline) were enticed to join and the quartet took the name Milo Greene.
