The Orchard's Artist News 12/21: The Forms, Lifeguards

New York duo The Forms have announced the 2xLP release of their forthcoming Derealization EP due out on February 15th on Triple Down Records / Threespheres (CD release through Ernest Jenning). Disc 1 will include the band's latest release, which features guest appearances from the likes of Matt Berninger (The National), Craig Wedren (Shudder To Think), and members of Pattern Is Movement, Dirty Projectors, St. Vincent and more. Disc 2 will feature the band's debut critically acclaimed and Steve Albini produced album, Icarus, which (in their 8.5 rated review) Pitchfork called "a mellifluous, wonderfully well-integrated sonic attack."

Stereogum just recently premiered a track from the forthcoming EP. Check out their review of Derealization, heralded as “sparkly, densely packed, airy dance music by guys who like their post-punk darker,” and listen to “Steady Hand” (feat. Andrew Thiboldeaux) here.

The band has also announced a string of upcoming dates around the Northeast, including a one-off appearance at the Paradise Club in Boston performing with the recently reunited Dismemberment Plan.
