The seven piece Portland group AgesandAges has announced the release of their debut album, Alright You Restless, February 15th 2011 on Knitting Factory Records. Produced by Kevin Robinson (Viva Voice, Blue Giant) at Amorelphonics in Portland in 8 days, the album was performed almost entirely live with 7 voices sung into one microphone. The result is a dream-filled interpretation of campfire pop with every member effortlessly displaying an exuberant amount of talent layered over vocal harmonies that seem to wrap around each song like a warm blanket.
Started in early 2009 by Tim Perry, of previous Portland rock band Pseudosix, AgesandAges' live show is a perfect combination of musicians with heartfelt talent and symbiosis interaction of vocal ability. Amidst the apathetic enthusiasm of the Northwest music lover, with tightly crossed arms standing listlessly in the back of the room, silently appreciating their favorite band, AgesandAges has been able to break through their hard candy shells to find the sweet center of every Northwesterner within earshot. Thus creating an enthusiastic fan base ready and willing to dance, clap, and sing along. With their debut album and plans for future touring, expect AgesandAges to capture an entire nation of indie rock fans.
