Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan are The Green Children, a musical duo whose songs blend ethereal pop with post-modern dance beats. The two European-born artists —Marlow’s hometown is Warwick in Central England and Milla hails from Alesund on the west coast of Norway – met while attending the Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts, an English university co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney.
Both Marlow and Milla take creative inspiration from the enchanting legends and scenic wonders of their birthplaces, and their music reflects their nomadic lifestyles. Their music is naturally infused with folklore and magic, lyrically and through its euphoric sounds. The duo’s name comes from the British legend of the green children, a mysterious medieval folk tale.
Sunde and Bevan established The Green Children Foundation to support microcredit, education and healthcare. These include a hospital in Bangladesh, Whole Planet Foundation/Mircoloans in India, and Green Children Scholarships to those who cannot afford education. Through The Green Children Foundation they raised $500,000 from their Norwegian album sales and donations for the opening of a hospital in Bangladesh. The Grameen Green Children Eye Hospital has already given more than 5,000 people their sight back, with many more to come.
The Green Children will be performing live on October 15th at the Webster Hall Studio in New York City. Their debut album Encounter, featuring the lead single “Dragons,” will hit stores Tuesday October 12th.
