TWR72 on Amsterdam’s own Instant Replay Label. This is twisted, stripped down, bangin’ and it just builds and builds to the end. Definitely one for the late nights. ‘Tunnel’ is a simple monster that gets every party going. A loop that keeps rising, and rising…. And rising.
TWR72 just keep banging out big tracks. They won the remix competition for Teki Latex’ Dinosaurs With Guns track that will be released on Sound Pellegrino in a couple of weeks and continue their goldstreak with this new EP on Instant Replay.
This is already heavily supported and charted by dj’s Brodinski, Laidback Luke, Teki Latex and the Sound Pellegrino posse, Bart B More, Zombie Nation, Mehdi, Tom Trago, The Mightyfools and many other peak-time housemeisters. Erol Alkan himself dubbed these guys as the ones to watch in the future. And he is right.
Even an older track from Roger (R72) called ‘Take Me Higher’ has recently been picked up upon by DJ A-Trak & Armand Van Helden for it’s bangin’ disco workout - check it out HERE
This year during Coachella, we got together with our friends from Stones Throw for one fine evening of “disco, boogie and house music” (as the hand-drawn flyer advertised) from Peanut Butter Wolf, The Brothers Macklovitch (A-Trak and Dave1), Mayer Hawthorne, Jokers Of The Scene, James Pants, and Chris Bag Raiders. Aloe Blacc was on mic duties throughout the evening, and, as you can see from the video highlight reel, a groovy time was had by all!
The night went so well, in fact, that we decided to base a whole tour around it: the Stones Throw x Fool’s Gold Discotheque, featuring Peanut Butter Wolf, A-Trak, J Rocc and Nacho Lovers (alongside DJ sets from some very special guests: Treasure Fingers, Holy Ghost!, Mayer Hawthorne and more) kicking off in Chicago with a Lollapalooza afterparty on August 6th and then traveling to San Francisco, Portland, and wrapping up with a very special boat party in Vancouver. Check the lineups and details after the jump!

DUE TO RABID SUPPORT FROM BRAZILIAN FANS, AVENGED SEVENFOLD WILL PERFORM AT THE SWU MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL IN SÃO PAOLO ON OCTOBER 11TH
Burbank, CA – Thanks to overwhelming demand from Avenged Sevenfold fans in Brazil, the Southern California hard-rock band will join the line-up of this year’s SWU Music & Arts Festival held in São Paolo.
Avenged will perform on the third day of the festival, October 11th, joining Linkin Park, Queens Of The Stone Age, Incubus and many others.
The band released their fifth studio album Nightmare on July 27th. Produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem) and mixed by noted engineer Andy Wallace, Nightmare was in the works when A7X’s beloved drummer, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, passed away. The Los Angeles Times has praised Nightmare’s “elegiac power ballads,” and called it “the band’s most personal effort yet.”
On August 17th, Avenged Sevenfold will set out co-headlining the first annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival with Disturbed. Also on the bill are Stone Sour, Halestorm, and Hell Yeah. Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre plays drums on Nightmare and will also tour with the band for UPROAR.
Emil Amos, world renowned as drummer of the illustrious experimental rock groups Om and Grails, has an increasingly prolific, though relatively unknown, solo career under the moniker HolySons. Home recording over 1000 songs since the project's inception in 1992, Amos has spent the better part of the last two decades honing his song writing and production skills over a wide swath of genres in a mission to capture his internal world sonically. Only a handful of shows have ever been played under the name (including opening stints for Quasi, Devendra Banhart, Will Oldham, J Mascis, Daniel Johnson, and a show at a community center in Dharmasala, India) and none of the records have been traditionally promoted, developing a dedicated underground fan-base through word of mouth alone.
Survivalist Tales is HolySons' 9th record, and represents the apex of Emil Amos' obsession to push stylistic genres to their breaking point while wrenching psyche-anthems out of the darkest frontiers of self-confrontation. The songs are a seemingly impossible blend of nightmarish Blade Runner-esque moog music with the darkest side of 70's easy-listening psyche and feature some of the most unabashedly soaring choruses Amos has ever put to tape. Combining avant-sound collage with lyrics culled from the hard-won truths of self-exploration, Survivalist Tales builds a beautiful imagining of future music. For the first time ever Amos is poised to present the project publicly; the upcoming tour supporting Scout Niblett can legitimately be described as HolySons' first tour.
