The first single in 2012 from Little Jinder, ʻKeep on Dreamingʼ is another amazing tune to add to the discography from Little Jinder that hits deep, yet also makes you want to get up to dance and belt out the lyrics with her. After the success of the massive Remix that 12th Planet & Flinch produced for Little Jinderʼs ʻYouth Bloodʼ and their performance of ʻYouth Bloodʼ in 2011 at festivals like Ultra and Coachella, the two collaborated once again to produce this dreamy, and emotional bass-filled radio and club friendly dubstep anthem. Little Jinderʼs voice only adds to the dreamy and emotional elements of the beat, bringing her token airy and passionate voice engulfed by a number of high pitched, dreamy, arpeggiating synths and a steady bass line that nearly shatters your heart. But the bass line isnʼt the only thing that comes close to breaking your heart; when Jinder sings in great lengths that no matter how hard the struggle, youʼve got to ʻKeep on Dreamingʼ for the health of your heart, something everyone can relate to.
For remixes we reached out to a few producers that offered different styles. Deadboy offers his signature two step and future sounds to bring us a remix perfect for the club or home listening. Not touching on the vocals too much, Deadboy compliments them with a beautiful and muffled piano melody accented with a deep bass line and percussion that makes this remix just as emotional as the original. Distal played with the vocals quite a bit, chopping them up, slowing them down, while also adding an appropriate dreamy, synth sounding like it drowned and is currently residing on the floor of the Atlantic ocean. The remix from Starkey shows his aggressive inspiration from grime and dubstep, making this remix tough enough for a sweaty night in the club, and epic enough for a festival. Starkey uses hard hitting horn/alarm sounds transitioning into a darker, and more straight up grime vibe taking you on a rollercoaster ride that keeps the crowd guessing, perfect for the highest point of a DJ set. Lastly, we have a smooth, deep and sexy house remix coming from the UKʼs The Living Graham Bond, that wile being upbeat, keeps the mood somber and groovy. Also included in the package is an acoustic version of ʻKeep On Dreamingʼ that Jinder recorded in her studio to showcase that she still has her electro pop sensibilities and an amazing voice.
Teenage rock sensations Cherri Bomb are a 4 piece, all female band who have already garnered glowing endorsements from the likes of Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins. Last October the young group released the explosive video for their song, "Let it Go," which will appear on the their upcoming debut album, This is the End of Control, due May 15 on Hollywood Records. The band released the 5 song EP, STARK last year.
Cherri Bomb are sure to win over the hearts of rock lovers of all ages. The band already have a 5 song EP under their belt, as well as performances at major festivals across Europe and Australia. They're also managed by ex-Hole drummer Samantha Maloney, who believed in the Los Angeles quartet so much that she put her career on hold to work with them.
Though the girls’ ages range from 13 to 16, their album is the product of years of work. It begins with guitarist/vocalist Julia Pierce, who found her musical calling before she was five. Her talent was undeniable, and her commitment was so unwavering that her parents were persuaded to uproot the family and move from New Jersey to Los Angeles – where they believed that she would have more opportunities to pursue her music. “When I got an electric guitar,” she says, “I realized that I wanted and needed to start my own band. I posted ads online and in local music shops around LA, looking for girl musicians my own age who were as passionate about music as I was. At the time it was hard to find girls my age who could even play instruments.”
The years of dedicated hard work, and the passion and creativity that demanded nothing less, shine through on This is the End of Control. Produced by Red Decibel & Bobby Huff and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (“Let it Go,” was mixed by Neal Avron), tracks like “Let It Go,” “Raw Real,” “Shake the Ground” and “Too Many Faces” present an exciting and startlingly mature sound in which melody melds with epic guitar riffs, a sound that speaks to the youth of today, and what is timeless about rock & roll. If asked, the girls will talk about influences that include Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Garbage and Led Zeppelin. Those influences, however, are like posters on the wall of rooms these four young musicians no longer live in. What they’ve found together is their own.
And to pre-empt any misconceptions, the group’s moniker was not inspired by the Runaways. “We came up with the name after we read a book called ‘Cherry Bomb’,” explains Julia. “It was filled with tips on how to survive as a girl in rock & roll, and stories from badass women in rock. It inspired us because of its confident message. We think of the name CHERRI BOMB as an explosive, in-your-face, attitude-driven symbol.” (It is ironic that one of the main contributors to the book was none other than Samantha Maloney. Talk about destiny.)

Cadence Weapon continues to firmly establish his legacy as a sonic pioneer while constantly pushing the rap and electronic music envelope. Following his critically acclaimed, Polaris Music Prize nominated albums Breaking Kayfabe and Afterparty Babies and a two-year term as Edmonton’s Poet Laureate, he returns with his new album “Hope In Dirt City” this Spring. A clearly defined and emotionally mature statement of intent, “Hope In Dirt City” represents the culmination of these experiences. Composed of a unique hybrid of psychedelic soul, old school rap, IDM and mutant disco, "Hope In Dirt City" is a ground-breaking achievement in hip-hop. Cadence Weapon has returned to bring rap back to its essence.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for that. In the meantime here is a teaser! Put On, Cologne
"Sparse and intimate, Donovan Woods’ The Hold Up feels like you’ve joined him in a closet full of winter coats so that he can whisper a few anecdotes that belong in your ears only ... Woods airs his neuroses about his shortcomings and wraps them in such a flawlessly charming package that it’s impossible not to root for him. This is an engaging and articulate window into the heart of an extremely unique writer." - Exclaim
