ORIGINAL!
The recent weeks have seen an influx of covers for the massive single
Somebody That I Used To Know by Australia's hottest up-and-coming
artist Gotye (featuring Kimbra). The original video has received almost
44 million views and some of the larger covers, such as the four featured
above have also reached viral status. The originality of Gotye's brand of
art-pop has also seemingly sparked the creativity of his fellow artists and
it shows in their own interpretations of the single. For their cover, Walk
Off The Earth has each of the band's five members performing a part of
the song on only one shared acoustic guitar. The Hip Hop world has also
taken note of the song, with Dice Raw and STS both incorporating the
song as a beat for new tracks. Perhaps the biggest cover to date came
when The Big Pink covers the track for their recent BBC Live Lounge Session.
Gotye's most recent album Making Mirrors has been certified two times
platinum in Australia, and will be released in the United States January
31st via Samples'N'Sounds/Fairfax Recordings/Universal Republic. He
has been selling out concerts all over Australia and has already received
ealy support from American tastemakers such as Pitchfork and KCRW,
who featured the album on their "Morning Becomes Eclectic" show. MTV
Buzzworthy clearly stated their fanship when they described Gotye as "just
about one of the coolest artists we've come across in a hot second. His style
is almost hard to define -- we could say indie folk, we could say indie pop, we
could say indie alternative, but what we really wanna say is that it's just pretty
effinf amazing."
Gotye made a brief trip stateside this past fall for the CMJ Festival, where he
was among the most buzzed about artists. He will be back for an extended
tour beginning the first week in February with sold out shows in Los Angeles
and New York City and culminating in scheduled appearances at Coachella
With an energetic live show which can easily be mistaken for a listen to the
album if you close your eyes, this upcoming run of North American dates
should solidify the sort of mainstream stardom for Gotye in the U.S. that he
currently experiences in his homeland.

With a name continuously causing confusionover the last seven years, Suis La Luneis a band hailing from Stockholm& Gothenburg, Sweden. Sharingan equal passion for mid 90's emo the four-piece got together early 2005,despite the inconvenience of being spread out all over Sweden at the time. They quicklyfound their own take on the genre; melodic and jangly guitars, the shiftingbetween quiet and loud parts with desperate vocals that is ranging betweentalky rantings and intense screaming. These were the main characteristics onthe debut album Quiet, Pull The Strings(2006) and has since long become their signature mark, following the bandthrough their various later releases.
Six years after their debut album andcountless of tours in both Europe and the US, it is finally time for the sophomorealbum entitled Riala to see thelight of day. Still with the mix of calm and hectic passages present, the soundhas evolved into what almost feels like complex pop songs; more melodic, catchier and with as much passion as ever before. Suis La Lune is happy to present their latest effort andproudest moment to date via Topshelf Records in the spring of 2012.

FOUR TRACK EP, FEATURING FOUR PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SONGS,
OUT NOW FROM DIGITAL RETAILERS
January 4, 2012 - Los Angeles, CA - Metallica has announced that is "has decided to go old school" and will release its current digital EP, Beyond Magnetic, on CD worldwide at retail on January 30th and on January 31st in North America. The EP, released via all digital retailers on December 13th, features four tracks recorded during the sessions for 2008's 2x-platinum Death Magnetic, the band's fifth consecutive No. 1 album.
Said the members of Metallica of Beyond Magnetic: "During the Death Magnetic album sessions in 2007 and 2008, we originally recorded 14 songs. When it came time to pick the songs for the final album, we decided on 10 songs that you've all come to know over the last three years. Some of you may have heard bits and pieces of those other songs on 'Mission Metallica' (remember 'Mission Metallica'?!) or heard rumors about them during the recording process, and wondered, 'What ever happened to those other four songs???.' We kept them in the vault and decided to pull them for our 30th anniversary celebration last month, so here are the four leftover tracks from the Death Magnetic sessions. They are ROUGH mixes, unfinished to their original degree of mixing from March '08. These four songs were released as gift to our closest fans, the members of our Fan Club, to enjoy. Now they're being made available to you."
Metallica celebrated its 30th anniversary as a band last month, performing four shows at the Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco, CA, exclusively for members of their fan club, the Metallica Club.
